Is AI trading legit? How to tell real software from hype
Short answer: The software can be legitimate. A tool that follows your rules, shows every trade and respects your limits is automation, nothing more. What is not legitimate is any promise of steady returns, because no AI knows what a market will do next. Seven checks below tell the two apart.

1. Does it promise returns?
A promised monthly percentage is the clearest red flag. Honest tools describe what the software does, not what you will earn.
2. Can you read the rules?
If the answer to "what does it trade on?" is "the AI decides," you are buying a black box. See AI trading agent vs EA.
3. Can you check the record?
A real record is on real money, shows the losers, includes costs and can be checked by someone other than the seller. See how to verify a gold EA's track record.
4. Is there pressure?
Countdown timers, "three copies left" and pushing you to deposit with a named broker are sales tactics, not product features.
5. Are the costs counted?
A test with no spread, commission or swap flatters every tool. See what a real backtest should include.
6. Are there limits you set?
A stop on every trade and a loss limit per day. See how to set a daily loss limit.
7. Is there a refund, in writing?
Ask before you pay. A seller that will not put the refund terms in writing is telling you something.
What no AI can promise
- To know the future price of gold, oil or an index.
- To remove the spread and other costs.
- To make a weak rule strong.
- To remove the risk of leveraged products, which can lose the whole account.

See what honest looks like
On the Baroq front page you pick a market and a style and watch a paper agent replay the last ten days of real prices, with the spread paid on every fill. A replay of the past is not a promise, and nothing there reaches a broker. Build your own on the AI agents page: agents trade demo money only, and live trading is coming soon. Baroq sells software, does not manage money, and no Baroq strategy has passed our judge yet.
The Monthly Pass and the Lifetime Pass are software licences for your own MetaTrader account. They score every robot and strategy you run the same way, with costs inside every number. See the plans.
FAQ
Is AI trading legit?
The software can be. A tool that follows your rules, shows each trade and keeps your limits is just automation. What is not legit is any promise of steady returns, because no AI can know the future.
Can AI trading make you rich?
No tool can promise that. Most retail traders lose money on leveraged products, and automation does not change the odds by itself. Treat any claim of easy wealth as a warning.
How do I spot an AI trading scam?
Promised monthly returns, countdown timers, limited copies, results that cannot be checked, pressure to deposit with a named broker, and no clear refund are the usual signs.
Is AI trading safe for beginners?
It is safer on demo money, with a stop on every trade and a daily loss limit. It is not safe to hand a bot real money you cannot afford to lose.
Is AI trading regulated?
Rules differ by country and by what a service does. Software that only follows your rules is treated differently from a service that manages money or gives advice. Check the local rules and the seller's terms.
How can I try AI trading without risk?
Use demo money. On the Baroq front page you pick a market and a style and watch a paper agent replay the last ten days of real prices with the spread paid. A replay of the past is not a promise.
