How to choose an AI trading bot for MT5: a buyer's checklist
Short answer: Do not pick a bot by the word AI or by a perfect chart. Ask ten plain questions about its rules, limits, costs, record and refund, and walk away if the seller cannot answer them. The checklist below works on any bot, from any seller, including us.

1. Can you read the rules?
A black box is a bet on the seller. Ask what the bot trades on and why, in words you can follow. If the answer is "AI," ask again. The guide on AI trading agent vs EA shows what a readable setup looks like.
2. Can you set the limits?
You should be able to set the loss per trade, the loss per day, the hours and the stop on every trade. A bot with no daily limit can lose a month in an afternoon. See how much to risk per trade and drawdown.
3. Was it tested with costs?
A test without the spread, commission and swap flatters every bot. Ask for one that includes them, then rerun it yourself. Read what a real backtest should include.
4. Was it tested on data it was not tuned on?
A bot tuned on the same candles it is shown looks perfect. Ask for the part it was never tuned on, shown on its own.
5. Is the live record real?
Real money, every trade, losers included, costs included, and checkable by someone other than the seller. Our checks are in how to verify a gold EA's track record and why gold EAs fail live.
6. What does it cost in total?
The price, the subscription, the broker's spread and any commission. A cheap bot on a wide-spread account can cost more than an expensive bot on a tight one.
7. Does it work on your platform?
Check that it runs on MT5 at your broker, on the symbol you trade, and read how to run an EA on MT5.
8. What happens when it is wrong?
Find out how to switch it off and what happens to open trades. Ask what the daily limit does when it is reached.
9. What are the red flags?
A promised monthly return. A countdown or "three copies left." Only winning months shown. A backtest with no costs. A record nobody else can check. No refund. See how to spot a fake gold EA.
10. What is the refund?
Ask for it in writing before you pay. Baroq's plans carry a 14-day refund, and we say what the software does and does not do.
Where Baroq fits
Baroq sells software, not a ready-made robot. Its AI agents are rules you shape yourself, with your own limits and a log of every decision, and they trade demo money only while live trading is coming soon. No BaroqTech strategy has passed our judge yet, and our own ideas sit on the record, turned-down ones included.
The Monthly Pass and the Lifetime Pass are software licences for your own MetaTrader account. They score every robot and strategy you run the same way, with costs inside every number. See the plans.
FAQ
What should I check before buying an AI trading bot?
Whether you can read its rules, set its limits, see every decision, and rerun its test with costs on data it was not tuned on. Then check the live record and the refund terms.
Is an AI trading bot better than a normal EA?
Not by name. AI is a label. What matters is whether the rules are visible, the limits are yours and the record is real. A normal EA with clear rules can be easier to trust than a black-box bot.
How do I tell a real record from a fake one?
A real record is on real money, shows every trade including the losers, includes costs, and can be checked by someone other than the seller. Our guide on verifying a track record lists the checks.
Should I run a new bot on a live account?
Not first. Run it on a demo account for long enough to see it through different market conditions, then start small if you go live. Size from the stop, not from the bot's advice.
What are red flags?
A promised monthly return, a countdown or limited copies, only winning months shown, a backtest with no costs, a record that cannot be checked, and no refund.
Where does Baroq fit?
Baroq sells software. Its AI agents are rules you shape yourself and they trade demo money only, with live trading coming soon. Baroq does not sell a ready-made robot.
