The full numbers
Descriptive, not a forecast: what a price did in past years says nothing certain about the next one.
How to read it
- Return is the year's last close against the last close of the year before. The first year in the prices has none, because the year before is not here.
- High and Low are the highest and lowest prices reached in the year, with the day they happened.
- Deepest fall in the year is the biggest drop from a closing high to a later close within the same year.
- Record means the highest close in these prices, which start in the month shown. An earlier price may have been higher.
- The past says nothing certain about the next year. It describes the past and forecasts nothing.
