Release playbooks
How the releases that move gold most are usually read, and what gold did right after each past one: moves from the last price before the release, in US dollars an ounce and in percent, on Baroq data's gold prices. These are past moves, not a forecast.
Rapport américain sur l'emploi (non-farm payrolls)
More jobs or faster pay rises than markets expected usually lift the dollar and US yields, and gold tends to fall; a weak report usually does the opposite. Revisions to the two months before can move gold as much as the new number.

Inflation above what markets expected usually means US rates stay high for longer: the dollar and yields rise and gold tends to fall at first. Inflation below expectations usually does the opposite.

A cut, or a hint of cuts sooner than markets expected, usually weakens the dollar and helps gold; a hold with a firm tone, or a hike, usually does the opposite. The press conference half an hour later often moves gold more than the decision itself.

- Les prix peuvent sauter et les spreads s'élargir dans les minutes autour d'une publication, si bien qu'un stop peut être exécuté bien loin de son prix. Certains brokers limitent le trading à ces moments : lisez les règles de votre compte.
- Chaque grande publication américaine affiche son dernier chiffre publié ; quand le nouveau chiffre sort, il prend sa place. Les prévisions et les chiffres de « consensus » sont des données payantes d'autres sociétés, donc absents ici.
- Les heures sont en UTC ; les publications américaines affichent aussi l'heure de New York. La Banque du Japon ne fixe pas d'heure pour sa décision, donc il n'y en a pas. Les adjudications du Trésor se terminent à 1:00 pm heure de New York le jour même.
