How it trades

It waits for a sharp move: it buys after a sharp fall (the RSI under 30) and sells after a sharp rise (over 70), betting on a move back. The trend block keeps it from fighting a strong trend all the time.

Its mix of the four building blocks, the same as the replay on the Baroq front page, on one-hour candles:

You can change the weights with sliders, or describe the agent in one sentence and let Baroq set them.

The limits it trades inside

An agent cannot be saved without them. These are the starting values; you set your own.

It also pauses new trades around big scheduled news, and it pays the spread on every fill.

Where a buy-the-dip agent struggles

Strong one-way markets. A market that keeps falling stays "oversold" for a long time, so the agent can buy too early, more than once. That is why the stop on every trade matters most for this style.

S&P 500: what moves it

The S&P 500 is the index of five hundred large US companies. Company earnings, interest rates and the economy's direction move it.

It is busiest in the New York session; outside it, the index CFD trades thinner. It has risen over the long run but falls fast in a sell-off, so a buy-the-dip style and a trend style behave very differently on it.

Try it before you trust it

Paper money first, always. A free Baroq account runs one agent like this on live prices and writes down the reason for every trade. The Lab then tests variations of it on past candles, picked on one part of the history and checked on the part it never saw.
