Gold Sessions and Ranges
Asia, London and New York drawn as boxes that grow with each session’s high and low, the size of the range written on the box as it develops. Hours and time zone are inputs. Intraday charts only.
Indicators · free, with the source
Sessions and ranges, a volatility stop with the position-size sum, a daily range meter and a price action toolkit. Free, with every line of the code open to read. They draw on your chart. They never trade, and they are not advice.
Dear chart reader
You have seen the adverts.
A green arrow. A red arrow. “92% accurate.” A formula nobody may see, for a price nobody can explain.
Here is the trouble with a secret formula. You cannot tell what it is reacting to. So you cannot tell when it is about to be wrong. And it will be, because every line on a chart is only arithmetic on the candles behind it.
If you cannot read it, you cannot trust it.
So our scripts come with the one thing the arrow sellers never give you: the source.
Four of them. Free. Every line open to read, and three of them yours to change and pass on under an open licence. No arrows that tell you to buy. No formula under a lock.
One draws the trading sessions and their ranges. One puts a volatility stop on the chart and does the position-size sum. One shows how much of a normal day is already used. One maps the market structure, the zones and the levels that price keeps returning to.
They draw. That is all they do. They never place a trade and they are not advice. The decision stays where it belongs: with you.
Add one to your chart tonight. Read the code tomorrow. That order, by the way, is the whole point.
The four scripts
Each file is the whole thing.
No account, no email wall, no pro version.
Paste it into the Pine Editor and it draws.
01
Asia, London and New York drawn as boxes that grow with each session’s high and low, the size of the range written on the box as it develops. Hours and time zone are inputs. Intraday charts only.
02
Where a stop a chosen number of ATRs away would sit, above and below price, and the size in lots that loses only the money you chose if that stop is hit. Account size, risk and units per lot are inputs.
03
How much of a normal day’s move has already happened today, against the average daily range of the last days, with yesterday’s high and low drawn on the chart.
04
Market structure, order blocks, fair value gaps, liquidity zones from up to four other timeframes, premium and discount, the previous day’s and week’s levels, sessions and the opening range. Every module has its own switch.
What each script shows
Each one was built to answer a single question, because a tool that answers five questions usually answers none of them well.
Gold Sessions and Ranges answers: which session set today’s high and low? Asia, London and New York are drawn as boxes that grow with each session’s range, and the size of the range is written on the box as it develops. Intraday charts only. Hours and time zone are inputs.
ATR Stop and Position Size answers: where would a volatility stop sit, and how big can the trade be so that this stop loses only what I chose? Two lines show the stop distance above and below price. A table shows the money at risk and the size in lots.
Daily Range Meter answers: how much of a normal day has already happened? Today’s move is compared with the average daily range of the last days, with yesterday’s high and low drawn on the chart.
Price Action Toolkit answers: where is the structure? Swing highs and lows, breaks of structure, order blocks, fair value gaps, liquidity zones from up to four other timeframes, premium and discount, the previous day’s and week’s levels, the sessions and the opening range. Every module has its own switch, and the busy ones start switched off.
Each one draws. None of them decides.
Three are published under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, so you may use them, change them and pass them on. The toolkit is our own original code, open to read line by line. Everything is in the file you download. Nothing phones home.
They are written in Pine Script for TradingView. Paste one into the Pine Editor, add it to the chart, and it draws.
How to add one
Three steps in TradingView. No install, no account with us.
Each script is one plain-text file. Open it, select everything, copy.
Open a chart, click Pine Editor at the bottom of the screen, delete what is there, paste, and click Save.
Click Add to chart. Open its settings to change the hours, the time zone, the ATR multiple or the modules you want drawn.
What is in the files

trades an indicator can place: it draws, that is all

These describe the scripts. They are not a result and not a promise of one.

Who they are for
01
See which session set the high and the low, and how big each range was, on the chart itself.
02
The ATR script does the stop and the lot-size sum on the chart before the click.
03
The range meter shows how much of a normal day has already happened.
04
The toolkit maps swings, zones and the levels price keeps returning to, with the busy parts switched off until you want them.
What an indicator is not
A few things we would rather say now than have you discover at 13:31 on a jobs day.
An indicator describes the past. A session box shows the range that already happened. A daily range meter counts the move already made. Neither knows what the next candle does, and neither pretends to.
An indicator never trades. Not ours, not anyone’s. If a chart script promises to trade for you, it is not an indicator. Rules that act are a different thing, and on this site that thing is an agent: rules you write, limits you set, a log you can read.
The toolkit is a map, not a route. Structure, zones and levels show you where price has paid attention before. What you do about that is yours.
Free means free. No account, no email wall, no “pro version” where the useful bit lives. The file you download is the whole thing.
What they do give you is a cleaner chart, a sum you no longer do by hand, and code you can read when you want to know why a line is where it is.
Read the code. Then decide if you trust the line.
If what you want is rules that run, with a stop on every trade and a reason for every decision, that is the agent. Your first one is free.

No. An indicator only draws. Rules that act are an agent: see how an agent works.
Any chart. The defaults suit gold and the major currency pairs; the hours, the time zone and the units per lot are inputs.
Not yet. The scripts are Pine Script for TradingView. The sums behind the ATR script are also in the free position size calculator on this site.
Trading with leverage can lose money quickly, including all of it. A line on a chart cannot change that. Read the risk warning
One more thing
You can keep paying for arrows you cannot read.
Or you can put four honest scripts on the chart tonight and read the code tomorrow.
