How it trades
It mostly follows the trend: it buys while the faster average of the last 20 candles is above the slower one of the last 50, and sells while it is below, with momentum as a second opinion.
Its mix of the four building blocks, the same as the replay on the Baroq front page, on one-hour candles:

The limits it trades inside
An agent cannot be saved without them. These are the starting values; you set your own.
- A stop on every trade 2 times the average candle range (ATR) away
- A target 2 times what the trade risks
- Loss limit a trade $100 on the $10,000 paper account (the size is cut to fit)
- Loss limit a day $200: the agent stops for the day
- Trades a day at most 3
It also pauses new trades around big scheduled news, and it pays the spread on every fill.
Where a trend-following agent struggles
Sideways markets. When price chops up and down in a range, a trend follower buys near the top and sells near the bottom, again and again. The stop and the daily loss limit are what keep those weeks small.
Gold (XAUUSD): what moves it
Gold is priced in US dollars per ounce. It tends to move against the dollar and against real interest rates, and it jumps on inflation data, central-bank decisions and news that scares markets.
It trades almost around the clock from Sunday evening to Friday evening, with one short daily pause. The London morning and the New York open usually bring the biggest moves; the Asian hours are often quieter. One lot is 100 ounces at most brokers, so a one-dollar move is a hundred dollars a lot.
