Currency fundamentals
The numbers behind the eight major currencies, in one place. Read them as context, not as a signal.
Some sources could not be reached, so a few rows show an older copy or "no data". Nothing is filled in by guessing.

Policy rate: the central bank rate (or the short-term interbank rate where the bank has none the source tracks). Definitions differ by country, so compare a country with its own past before comparing it with others. Sources: FRED (St. Louis Fed), which republishes national and OECD statistics.
Rate gap by pair
The base currency's rate minus the quote currency's rate, in percentage points. A positive gap means holding the base currency pays more interest than the quote. That is the carry. It is one input among many: rate gaps have pointed the wrong way for long stretches, and a wide gap often reflects risk the market already prices in.
